Photovoice:A Tool in Lean Management?

This paper explores the merits of Photovoice (PV),an emerging Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology,in Supply and Operations Management.PV uses pictures as a catalyst for uncovering and powerfully revealing the concerns,strengths and goals of the subjects of investigatory research.Previously hidden symptoms become visible and must be dealt with explicitly.In this paper we describe the objectives,benefits,implementation steps and key success factors,and illustrate possible Supply and Operations Management (SOM) cases with examples.Our research is triggered by the large gap between the implementation of PV in psychology versus business administration in general and operations management specifically.
