EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE INFLUENCE OF LINING ON CFG PILE COMPOSITE FOUNDATION
CFG piles, made from Cement, Fly ash and Gravel, are widely used in the building engineering at present. In the composite foundation formed by CFG piles, soil and lining the technology for lining is always a key for the successful application of the composite foundation. Although the effects of lining have been studied with numerical analysis method and reported in a lot of research papers, the problem of how the thickness of lining affects the composite foundation is still not very clear. The experimental study described here focuses on the research of different lining thickness used in the CFG pile composite foundation. The influences of different lining thickness upon the stress ratio between piles and soil in the composite foundation are analyzed. As a result, it is proved that the change of lining thickness can play a good adjustment functions on the load distribution between the CFG piles and the soil, and therefore the stress concentration happened on the lining bottom can be reduced effectively. The test results also show how great the influence of different lining thickness on the load bearing capability and subsidence of the piles will be. The results of experiment study will be useful as references for the design and construction of the CFG pile composite foundation.
