RESEARCH ON SELF-ORGANIZING CHARACTERISTIC OF ROCKMASS DAMAGE EVOLUTION

Based on the Analysis of the complexity of rockmass damage, the self-organizing characteristic of rockmass damage evolution process is point out. The significance and feasibility of studying on rockmass damage evolution by using this characteristic is demonstrated. Then Summarized currently approaches of rockmass damage study in China, which applied with nonlinear science such as dissipative structure theory, synergetics, catastrophe theory, Fractal Geometry and chaos theory. The extensive problems that should be treated are pointed out.
