Technology research on injecting limewater into coal bed to prevent hydrogen sulfide

The problem of the over-limits of hydrogen sulfide gas in the 51520(middle) working face in Taiyuan Dongshan coal mine threats operating personnel safety and leads production to stop. Based on the characteristics of hydrogen sulfide gas which is easy to dissolve in the water and to make a chemical reac tion with limewater, applying the method of injecting limewater in the working face experiment may prevent the problem of the over-limits of hydrogen sulfide gas and control it. Through analyzing the injection effec tive radius and the increasing of moisture content, ascertain fundamental parameters of reasonable arrange ment of injecting hole, spacing and pressure, and inspect the moisture content of coal, the hydrogen sul fide gas density in air flow and the change of drilling depth in working face after injection, studied the technology in injecting limewater into coal bed to prevent hydrogen sulfide gas over-limit in working face. The practice has showed that the method of injecting limewater into coal can increase coal moisture content to dissolve the problem of the over-limits of hydrogen sulfide gas effectively by making a chemical reaction with limewater. Thereby, it can reduce the emission of hydrogen sulfide gas and will have good effects on preventing and controlling the over-limits of hydrogen sulfide gas in the working face.
