Properties of mazimum allowable ozygen content of flammable gases (liquid vapors)
In view of the present situation that research on maximum allowable oxygen content ( MAOC) is not comprehensive and systematic yet both at home and abroad. In order to maximize the safety of indus trial productions, taking the coal gas as example, this paper have conducted the massive experimental study on maximum allowable oxygen content ( MAOC ) of flammable industrial gases and liquid vapors. At the same time, the properties of MAOC have been analyzed theoretically based on comparing to the explo sion limit. For the first time, this paper originally presents the theory of MAOC varying law and affecting factors; There still exist both the maximum and the minimum for MAOC. Moreover each concentration of the combustible substance corresponds to a sole value of MAOC. MAOC value varies with different condi tions, such as temperature, pressure, the amount of inert gases and so on. Through reducing the oxygen concentration in reaction, decreasing pressure and temperature and adding the inert gases, the scope of ex plosion limit is narrowed and MAOC value is increased, thereby it is beyond the explosion boundary.
