Identification of Aluminum-Induced Programmed Cell Death in Root Tips of Peanut (Arachis Hypoganea L.)
With peanut cultivars 99-1507 ( Al-resistant) and Zhonghua No. 2 ( Al-sensitive) as materials, the research whether Al could induce programmed cell death (PCD) in peanut root tips was studied, including DNA laddering, microstructure of hematoxylin-eosin double staining, fluorescence microstructure of AO/EB double staining, TUNEL ( transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling) detection and electron microscope. The results showed firstly that Al could induce PCD in peanut root tips and had the typical morphological and biochemical changes. In meanwhile it was identified that there was a negative relationship between Al-induced PCD and Al resistance of peanut.
