Investigation on Effect of Agricultural Management on Land Degradation-a Case Study in Taleghan Region, Iran
Research is necessary to determine if a region is suitable for agriculture and if so, what types of agricultural management should be applied accordingly. To achieve this objective, a region in Taleghan, Tehran province was chosen as a case study. Several blocks were selected and different types of agricultural systems were compared in these blocks using a Completely Randomized Block Design. Soils in each part of the agricultural land were sampled at the depth of 0 - 30 cm, for the analysis of N, P, K, humus, lime, and soil-degradation factors including pH, EC, and SAR. The results showed that there were significant differences among treatments. The results indicated that the dry farming is the most inferior treatment and cultivated lands are the best ones.
