Rural Residential Seismic Resistance Practical Technology
In this paper, new technologies of earthquake resistance for both newly built buildings and existing buildings are respectively introduced according to the characterized of residential in vast rural areas in China. For the existing buildings, low cost, high performance ferrocement laminate (HPFL) can be used. The strengthening forms include using ferrocement laminate as the ring beam and constructional column, and using ferrocement laminate form as cross strut. For the new building, a new type of steel - asphalt composite isolation layer can be used by setting up in housing at the top of foundation. The isolation layer is suitable for the newly-built house in the vast rural areas for its good effect, low cost and simple construction methods.
