Ezperimental Investigation and Plastic Mechanism Analysis of Partially-restrained Steel Frame with RC Infill Walls
According to the experimental investigation of ten 1/3-scale, one-bay, two-story, partially-restrained steel frame with RC infill walls (PSRCW) specimens under reversed cyclic load, the maximum lateral strength and global performance of test specimens were analyzed. Test results showed PSRCW possessed enough strength appropriate for resisting lateral load and offered enough stiffness for controlling lateral drift. Based on the virtual work theory and desirable plastic mechanism mode, plastic mechanism analytical method of PSRCW taking into account different lateral load distribution pattern were presented. Lateral strengths of test specimens occurred desirable failure mode were computed from the proposed method. Theory calculating results conform well with real measuring ones, which indicated that plastic mechanism analytical method can be adopted to evaluate the maximum lateral strength of PSRCW system.
