Study on Stability of Giant Landside and Location of Transportation Tunnel Going Through Fault Rupture

Based on the fact that damage of transportation system, routes to escape be cut off and rescuing difficulty leading to many human fatalities caused by a large number of landslides geohazards especially large even giant landslides in Wenchuan large earthquake, the study on stability and structural characteristics of Suanshuiwan giant landslides influenced by Anning river and Xigeda fault rupture located in Xichang-Panzhihua Expressway were carried out in this paper. Compared with others civil engineering, tunnels are recognized as the reliable transportation structure due to its anti-seismic ability to ensure the safety of traffic lifeblood in earthquake area. Through the Implicit Solution of Imbalance Thrust Force Method, the paper reveals structural characteristics of Suanshuiwan landslide which is different from single landslide, the giant landslide is the multiple features consisting of main anti-slide segment, main slide segment, anti-slide segment, slide segment. Furthermore, the rational position of tunnel under giant landslide is studied using numerical analysis method. The result shows the position of tunnel should be designed in the stable ground under secondary slope, and to class IV rock, the safety distance should be more than 3 times span of tunnel between crown of tunnel and the landslide face. The results above can provide references for reconstruction of Wenchuan area and others route design of traffic lineblood of mountain area.
