A Consideration for Disaster Reduction and Wenchuan Earthquake by Investigating of Professional Engineers
The horrifying earthquake hit Wenchuan on May 12 2008, which affected an area of Sichuan, Gansu, Yunnan and caused a huge loss of life and property. The death toll from the May 12 earthquake was 69,226 and the numbers of people listed as missing and injured were 17,923 and 374,643. We investigated the disaster spots. Then, we made arrangements with professor of each university to improve good earthquake countermeasures. We keenly realized technical correspondence and social correspondence to revival, seeing the situation of the disaster. Based on the knowledge acquired from the argument together with results of an investigation and Chinese professors, we propose this paper about disaster reduction technology from a consulting engineers viewpoint.
