Long-term Recovery Processes: Lessons Learned from the 1995 Kobe Earthquake
In this paper, we introduce the lessons on the long-term recovery processes learned from the 1995 Kobe earthquake. Long-term recovery process from the Kobe earthquake disaster took more than ten years to complete with three goals to be achieved: Physical recovery, economic recovery, and life recovery. A theoretical framework for holistic long-term recovery processes will be presented.
