The Effects of Substrates Balance Pattern on Nutrient Uptake by the Mammary Gland and Milk Yield and Composition in Dairy Goats
Four Guanzhong dairy goats with a external pudic artery catheter and four procedures for measuring MBF were used to study the effect of infusing acetate, amino acids and glucose into external pudic artery on nutrient uptake by the mammary gland and milk yields and composition. The results showed that using procedure NO.1, 2 and 4 for measuring mammary blood flow could provide more precise data, The balance patterns of MPP, MFP and MLP in EPA were changed by infusing acetate, amino acids and glucose compared to the control, which could gave great influence on extraction, output/uptake and milk yield and quality. The amino acids and glucose infusing made relatively optimal balance patterns of MPP, MFP and MLP in EPA and then improved nutrient utilization in the mammary gland as well as milk yield and quality. The AA and glucose supply could improve mammary utilization of amino acids. In summary, amino acids level and pattern in the substrate fluxes crossed EPA play the key role in improving extraction, and output/input of the precursors, but the best result can be only achieved by changing the balance pattern of all the three precursors together, because at cell level metabolism of the nutrients is integrative.
