Effects of the acid polysaccharide fraction from a cultivated Cordyceps sinensis on macrophage RAW264.7
Cordyceps sinensis is one of the well-known traditional Chinese medicines with a great deal of effects in preventing and treating diseases. Polysaccharides extracted from C. sinensis possess a number of bioactivities. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of an acidic polysaccharide fraction ( APSF) from the mycelium of C. sinensis on murine macrophage cell line RAW264.7. Phagocytosis was detected by neutral red phagocytotic assay. Griess reagent was used to measure the production of NO and the ROS generation was estimated using H2DCF-DA by flow cytometry. The results shown that APSF stimulated the phagocytosis of macrophage, enhanced the production of NO and generation of reactive oxygen species. These data suggest that APSF may significantly promote the functions of macrophages.
