Preparative separation of chlorogenic acids from tobacco waste eztract with macroporous resins
Chlorogenic acids have shown potential beneficial properties to humans such as antioxidant, hepatoprotective, hypoglycaemic. In order to establish a new methord of downstream processing for chlorogenic acids separation from tobacco waste extract, the performance and separation characteristics of nine macroporous resins have been evaluated. The adsorption and desorption properties of chlorogenic acids on macroporous resins have been compared. According to our results, XAD-4 resin offered higher adsorption and desorption capacities and higher adsorption speed than other resins. It is useful in the designing of adsorption-desorption process for the enrichment and purification of chlorogenic acids from tobacco waste extract.
