Mathematical Model for Multi-Physical Process Coupling Analysis of Strip Hot Rolling
A three-dimensional computation model for analyzing the strip hot rolling is presented, which consists of a series of separated models. To take account of the complicated interactions among thermal, mechanical and metallurgical phenomena in rolled metal, models for analysis of these three physical processes respectively are full coupled through iterative procedures. Simulations of strip hot rolling are performed using the proposed model. Predictions are presented and compared with industrial mill logs. It is shown that the model is capable of tracking the metal flow, temperature variation and the microstructural evolution of the strip during hot rolling. It also could analyze the effects of process variables on the profile and microstructure distribution across the transverse and thickness direction in rolled strip.
