Impact of Distributed Generation on Voltage Profile in Distribution System
Presence of distributed generation (DG) can represent a significant impact on the distribution networks, such as system reliability, power flow, relay protection, voltage profile and stability. It brings great challenge to the traditional distribution networks. Voltage profile is of great importance to consumers because its a basic demand for electrical equipments running near the rated voltage. DG can provide voltage support to raise the low voltage at the end of the feeder. However, the voltage where DG is injected may be raised over the upper limit. Two typical load distribution models-uniform and isosceles models are established in this paper to analyze the voltage profile quantitatively. Thus the exact voltage of each node can be calculated, which can help analyze the impact of DG. Through the simulation, the impact of DG on the voltage profile is illustrated.
