Toward a Research Agenda for Semi-automatic Annotation of Web Services

摘要：

Semantic Web service description frameworks differ on the Web service elements and data that should be semantically described. Moreover,the process of semantic annotation of Web services is currently manual which makes this process time consuming,more error-prone and presents numerous difficulties to Semantic Web services developers. As a consequence,this paper reviews the literature to provide a synthesis of the Web service elements that should be semantically described. Based on the synthesised elements,the major Semantic Web service frameworks are compared in order to judge their completeness. Semi-automatic Web service annotation approaches are then examined and compared against the synthesised elements to provide a research agenda for overcoming the limitations of current semi-automatic annotation approaches.
