SCADA-System for Contezt Aware Driver Assistance: A Case Study using Semantic Approach

Active Driver Assistant Safety Systems 21 are gradually becoming practical with advancements in environmental sensing and vehicle control technologies. Many research works 1,5,7,and 8 on drivers behavior have arrived at development of systems that compensate cognition, judgment and action of drivers. This paper, discusses on a context aware architecture built around a dynamic updatable innovative semantic web framework that facilitates the development and deployment of context-aware adaptable driver assistant services. The system suggests context information about different driving parameters that may be utilized to give valid help information to the driver for safe driving. The goal of framework SCADA is to employ the application of semantic web - context aware environment,by aggregating context from different sources within a local environment and determining the appropriate service for the user. The major contributions of this paper are context representation and context processing. Ontology has been used to formally describe contextual information since it represents data and information in semantic notations and supports reasoning process to new knowledge or fact. The increasing complexity required for context awareness makes such kind of applications difficult to write and adapt, hence the skeleton frame format has been discussed for building context aware applications as dynamically composed sequences of calls to fine granularity context services, addressing the reactive behavior of pervasive driving environments.
