Development and Application of Mold Fluzes for 420 Billet
Considering component, solidification character and performance of 420 under high temperature, the relation of mold fluxes and mechanism of surface depression and micro-crack formation on billet were analyzed. The study showed that heat transfer performance of mold fluxes for 420 was vitally important. The Grain-mold fluxes used for 420 continually casting 150×150mm2 billet with a drawing speed of 1.0~1.5m/min had been developed. The result was that the overhauling rate owing to surface depression fell from 20% to 5% for using 2#with good performance.
