New Interfaces for the Plasimo Framework

The Plasimo code (http://www.plas imo.phys.tue.nl) is a multi-physics code for simulating a variety of plasma sources with various degrees of departures from equilibrium, electromagnetic field configurations, flow regimes and geometries. Plasimos species data requirements are discussed from a developers point of view. A detailed description is given of the implementation of cross section-averaging and the way a collisional-radiative model can be set up for arbitrary plasma gases. Some comments will be made concerning the recent work regarding the standardisation (using an XML representation) of input data that has been initiated during recent installments of the ICAMDATA conference. We will discuss possible future directions of the Plasimo project in the light of these developments and discuss the future role of such technologies like Schema, AJAX, Web Services and related web technologies.
