Influence of FDI on Economic Development of Harbin-Daqing-Qiqihar Industrial Corridor in Northeast China

The idea of building HaDaQi (Harbin-Daqing-Qiqihar) Industrial Corridor was proposed by Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China in 2003. HaDaQi Industrial Corridor is an economic zone built with capital home and abroad as well as new technology, whose aim is to become an open, multi-industrial and high intensive economic area with advanced technology, good ecological environment and scientific structure based on present industrial basis, industrial advantage and adequate science human resources. Its aim is to make the industrial corridor become the main area which leads the economic development of Heilongjiang Province and which has strong competitiveness throughout the country within 15-year development. It becomes key measure for its development to fully use foreign investment to provide enough currency preparation for economic development. This paper uses simple empirical study to analyze the influence of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the development of Harbin-Daqing-Qiqihar Industrial Corridor, and then to give some proposals for its development.
