Study on Remediation of Contaminated Water by Plant Floating Bed-Microorganism

Study on remediation of contaminated water by plant floating bed-microorganism was carried in Nanhu Park of Tangshan city. It is discoved with climate of Tangshan and through experimentation that Eichhornia crassipes, Canna indica and fleur-de-lis are the preferable plant to remedy contaminated water because they not only can purify contaminated water but also they are ornamental which can beautify entironment. The results obtained from research are summarized as follows: The artifical fillers are hung under the plant floating bed then the remedial system combined by plant and microorganism came into being. The remedial effectiveness of the system was visibly better than that of the phytoremediation alone. So when the temperature is higher the remedial system combined by plant and microorganism is the preferable remedial technique to remedy contaminated water. In autumnal end and winterly outset, the temperature is lower, the plants begin to fade and die, and the plant must be harvested lest the relict of plant should contaminate water again. At the same time the technique combined by immobilized nitrogen cycling bacteria (INCB) and microorganism which already existed in the water was used to remedy contaminated water. Using these techniques to experimentalize in Nanhu Park of Tangshan city for three years the water quality of Nanhu Park came from less class of the surface water standard back to class. The pollution of Nanhu Park of was resolved basically.
