EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SHEAR STRENGTH AND DEFORMATION OF RECYCLED AGGREGATE CONCRETE
Recycled Aggregate Concrete (RCA) is a new type of green-building material. Research on shear behavior of recycled concrete can provide practical guidance on the use of such material. In this paper, based on experimental research on 180 recycled concrete test cubes subjected to compressive force and 5 groups of recycled concrete girders under four-point load with uniform depth and varying width, and subjected to shearing force. The relationship between shear strength and compressive strength is analyzed. On condition of the same w/c and reinforcement ratio, influence of the replacement rate of recycled aggregate on anti-shear performance of RAC is studied. The result indicates that the failure mode of the sheared girders is similar to that of common concrete, but the shear strength of those girders are lower than that of common concrete. The shear stress-strain curve of recycled aggregate concrete are drawn and the expressions for stress-strain curve and the shear modulus of recycled aggregate concrete are suggested based on experimental data.
