INFLUENCE OF PROPERTY OF RECYCLED COARSE AGGREGATE ON IMPERMEABILITY OF RECYCLED AGGREGATE CONCRETE
With the decreasing of natural resource in the world, the policy of energy conservation and emissions reduction is set up in China. The technology of recycled concrete is one of the ways to carry out the policy, which has better environmental and economic benefits. The strength and durability of recycled concrete are comparatively low because of high porosity, water absorption capacity, low strength and rough surface of recycled aggregate. Therefore, recycled concrete is currently used in concrete mass walls and other minor concrete structures. In this paper cement paste, epoxy resin and sodium silicate are used to improve the surface property of recycled aggregate to reduce water absorption and improve the strength of recycled aggregate. Impermeability of recycled concrete, which consists recycled aggregate treated with the above introduced measures, is tested. Finally, influence of property of recycled concrete aggregate on impermeability of recycled aggregate concrete is analyzed.
