EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON CONCRETE AXIAL COMPRESSION SQUARE-COLUMN RESTRICTED WITH HFRP

Different axial pressure on concrete square-columns of different intensities wrapped with glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP), carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), and hybrid fiber reinforced polymer (HFRP) were experimented. Then the behaviors of their load-carrying capacity and restraint efficiency were compared between different restraint fibers. And the influences on their load-carrying capacity were discussed for different intensity of concretes. The results shows that the load-carrying capacity and the ductility of the columns wrapped with HFRP are improved and it is the most economical method in contrast to the costs of CFRP or GFRP.
