EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON SEISMIC STRENGTHENING OF R.C. T-SHAPED COLUMNS
In this paper, 1 damaged R.C. T-shaped column and other 3 undamaged ones were strengthened for earthquake resistance. The methods of wrapping steel outside and compound strengthening (wrapping steels and carbon fiber sheets outside) are separately adopted. Then, the experimental research on seismic behavior of 4 strengthened columns and another un-strengthened one under horizontal low-cycle loading was completed, the affects of different strengthening methods on their failure modes, load-bearing capacity, seismic energy dissipation capability, the situation of rigidity degradation and ductility are analyzed. The test results indicate: the method of compound strengthening can more effectively improve seismic behavior of R.C. T-shaped columns. Based on this, the shear property of compound strengthening T-shaped column was discussed, and its calculation method of shear strength was suggested.
