Complez Socio-Technical Systems: Innovation Patterns and Knowledge Management
This paper investigates some major characteristics of innovation and knowledge management in complex socio-technical systems. Using the concepts from the fields of complexity science and evolutionary economics, this paper describes the concepts of complex socio-technical systems and analyzes patterns of technological innovation of complex systems. Processes of knowledge management in accessing and using knowledge are elaborated. Finally, lessons for managers and public policy makers concerned with facilitating the innovation are discussed.
