The Advantages of Library Staff Majoring in Social Sciences to be S & T Novelty Searchers and Advice on Pertinent Training
To confront the shortage of eligible S & T novelty searchers facing China university and college libraries, based on the analysis of their advantages, the article suggests that more library staff majoring in social sciences should be chosen as potential trainees and future searchers. Three stages of pertinent training are designed: orientation, knowledge reposition and practice. In the end, the article offers some advices on each stage: choose one or some related subjects as the main novelty searching area; take corresponding courses on chosen subject and participate in the related research program) gradually take on some novelty searching under the leadership and/or with the aid of experienced novelty searchers.
