AN ANALYSIS OF CHANGES IN FOREST COVER IN THE REPUBLIC OF BURYATIYA (KABANSKY DISTRICT) USING LANDSAT TM/ETM+ IMAGES
The current state and rational exploitation of forest resources of the republic of Buryatia has important implications for management both at the regional and national level. One of the most spread widespread methods of monitoring and analysis of forest ecosystems is the application of remote sensing data and GIS. This paper is devoted to evaluation of the dynamic processes of forest cover in Buryatia by automatic classification of Landsat TM/ETM+ image.
