POSSIBILITIES OF USING EDUCATIONAL GIS FOR KHIBINI FIELD PRACTICAL TRANING REGION IN TEACHING SPECIALISTS IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND NATURE RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
The enclosed paper will pose one of the ways of using an educational GIS in teaching specialists in environmental and nature resources management by the example of GIS developing for Khibiny field practical training region at the Department of Environmental Management Faculty of Geography, Moscow State University. The database structure of the GIS and main key-territories are discussing. Using GIS students have an opportunity to learn digital image processing and thematic interpretation of space multispectral satellite data at the new technical level, as well as study geoinformational interpretation of geobotanical, geochemical and hydrochemical research results conducted with measurements, taking samples and obtaining quantitative results in a chemical laboratory and etc. They lean to map studied territory and to formulate recommendations for it further wise use. Information in educational GIS database can be used during academic year in different lecture courses, seminars, in computer-based practical training courses, as well as in field courses and research.
