HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER OF MULTIPHASE IN VERTICAL PIPE OF CWS ENTRAINED-FLOW GASIFIER

Falling water film in vertical pipe has been employed in the cooling chamber of coal-water-slurry (CWS) entrained-flow gasifier. The syngas and molten slag from gasifier are cooled and humidified fast by direct contact heat transfer of gas-liquid-solid three phases, which is both efficient and simple cooling technics 1-3. Knowledge of the falling water film dynamics and thermodynamics is important for evaluation of cooling and humidity efficiency especially for clarification the operating conditions preventing the falling water film broken. However, as is the case for the multiphase flow with complex direct-contact heat and mass transfer with large temperature difference, it is difficult to obtain the measurement of each phase dynamics and thermodynamics in the whole vertical pipe both at high temperature and without disturbing the flow field.
