CHARACTERISTIC OF RESIDUES FROM SUPERCRITICAL WATER EXTRACTION OF COAL
Coal has great potential as a substitute for petroleum as liquid fuel and chemical sources. In addition to classical techniques, some new concepts 1 are being developed. The supercritical extraction of coal with water for its interesting physical and physico-chemical properties 2, has received more attention and some detailed studies have been reported 3, 4. But little information about extraction residue character in sub- and supercritical solvent was reported. Abundant Jurassic coalfields exist in western of China and play a very important role in the energy supply of China. Because the Jurassic coals were formed in inland gathering environment and subjected to strong oxidation, these coals have the characteristics of typical weak reductive coal.
