DECOMPOSITION OF N2O OVER LOW-COST CATALYST
Fluidized bed combustion is a coal combustion technology which could reduce both SOx and NO emission. However, the emission of N2O from a fluidi/ed bed combustor is usually quite high 1. N2O is a kind of strong greenhouse gas with long lifetime in atmosphere. Furthermore, it depletes ozone in stratosphere 2. Thus, the control of N2O emission is an important issue for fluidization bed combustion technology. A series of methods can be potentially employed to control N2O emission, of which catalytic decomposition (N2O → N2 + 1/2O2) offers distinguished advantages over other technologies 3.
