PREPARATION OF CLEAN COAL BY SOLVENT EXTRACTION FROM LOW RANK COAL(LRC)

Coal has long been used as an important energy source, and its exploitable deposit is three times larger than that of the petroleum. With the development of human civilization, demand for coal has increased explosively but its utilization confronted limitations due to excessive emission of air pollutants and carbon dioxide, one of the major global warming gases. Recently, however, with the crisis of exhaustion of petroleum and high oil price, there is increasing interest in purifying coal to utilize it as an alternative clean energy source.
