Continuous oil supply has become an important issue because of the difficulty to discover new huge conventional oil fields and increasing demand for petroleum in developing countries such as China and India. In this situation, the development of unconventional oil such as oilsands is receiving more and more interest and the development of upgrading technology to produce high-quality synthetic oil is also strongly required.
