MASS TRANSFER LIMITATIONS ON FIXED-BED REACTOR FOR F1SCHER-TROPSCH SYNTHESIS

Indirect conversion of coal, heavy oil, natural gas, and biomass into liquid fuels (e.g., gasoline, diesel, wax) can play a major role in solving the energy problem (i.e., the high oil price~130 US$/bbl). Furthermore, since the synthetic liquid fuels are ultra-clean (no aromatics, no sulfur, and no nitrogen compounds), it can easily satisfy the upcoming stricter environmental regulations both in Europe and the U.S.A.
