A NOVEL INDIRECT CaSiO3 CARBONATION ROUTE FOR CO2 SEQUESTRATION
In natural, the weathering of silicate mineral is an important geochemical phenomenon, which has much relationship to CO2 cycle and global temperature by forming as geologically stable, environmentally benign carbonates. Due to growing concern about the increased concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere and possible adverse impacts, mineral carbonation has been studied as a possible option to mitigate CO2. However, the mineral carbonation rate is extremely slow, and thus accelerating the carbonation reaction rate and efficiency is the most crucial problem to develop a reasonable process.
