Buck Boost Li-Ion Battery Charger Solution
Li-ion battery chargers have gone through a major evolution in the past several years, using the linear model and step down PWM model. And today’s designs have requirements buck and boost model for some special application, such as UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) and solar power charger. The requirements for these applications include wide input voltage, high charge rates, low insertion loss from components in series with the cells, high-precision charge current and regulated voltage measurements. This topic describes. The design application and solutions to resolve them. Resolution of these issues requires attention to both the circuit design and test result.
