NEW HIGH VOLTAGE GATE DRIVER WITH INTEGRATED ADVANCED CURRENT SENSING AND INTELLIGENT PROTECTION FUNCTION
Complex motion control solutions are increasingly adopted even in low cost applications, requiring more featured ICs specialized in sophisticated current control and performing fault protection routines. A new high voltage gate driver IC with innovative features will be presented in this paper. The device controls two n-channel power MOSFETs or IGBTs in half-bridge topology with a bus voltage up to 600V. Thanks to its optimized integrated analog components it strongly simplifies many highly sophisticated applications such as field oriented motion controls. A series of protection features allow designing reliable systems and the high integration reduces the number of external components.
