ANALYSIS FINE PARTICLES BEHAVIOR DURING PULVERIZED COAL COMBUSTION BY MOMENT METHOD

Aerosol emissions from coal combustion and waste incineration are seriously harmful to human health and environment. These particles generally have a bimodal mass distribution, coagulation is a dominant process for fine particles growth and removal. This paper present the moment method to analysis the coagulation between the same modes (called intra-coagulation) and different modes (called inter-coagulation) in a real combustion system. The results show that the properties of flue gas make significant difference on the particle size distribution, and the size distribution can not reach the self-preserving when intra-coagulation happening only for the time history considered.
