EFFECT OF PYROLYSIS PRESSURE ON CHAR THERMOPROPERTIES AND MESO-& MACROPORE EVOLUTION
The effect of pyrolysis pressure on char structure was investigated in this study. The physical structure of resultant solid char derived from different pretreated pressures and temperatures were analyzed using Accelerated Surface Area Porosimetry and Scanning electron microscopy in depth. SEM image of chars implied that the softening temperature and shrinkage temperature was decreased at high pressure (3.0MPa), it can be concluded that high pressure promotes char thermoproperties, furthermore, it influenced the char pore structure evolution. The N2 sorption of different chars indicated that char obtained at 0.8MPa had the largest adsorption ability due to the promotion of mesopore evolution under pressurized pyrolysis. Other pressurized chars showed the major difference in mesopore volume, which indicated that the pyrolysis pressure influenced the mesopore evolution greatly, while no obvious change was displayed for macropore, even though ambient pressure char showed relative larger macropore volume than pressurized char.
