NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION ON CHEMICAL REACTION IN A 1 T/H TWO-STAGE ENTRAINED FLOW COAL GASIFIER
Coal gasification has received increasing attention in the past two decades due to the growing demand for clean gaseous fuels. Numerical simulations of the coal gasification process inside a two-stage dry feed entrained flow gasifier were carried out using the commercial CFD solver FLUENT. A series of numerical simulation of chemical reaction in the entrained flow coal gasifier was carried out based on the established model in the previous paper. The aim was to reveal the effects of main parameters, including oxygen/coal ratio, steam/coal ratio, and water cooled wall, on chemical reaction inside the gasifier. These factors affect gas composition distribution, temperature distribution, carbon conversion and cold gas efficiency that will influence the performance of gasifier. The calculation is helpful for designing the operating conditions of the gasifier in the discussed gasifier in this paper.
