Transonic Diffuser Design and Analysis

A TBCC (Turbine Based Combined Cycle) engine used diffuser is designed and its performance is analyzed. The diffuser entrance is connected to the inlet exit. In the design process, it is divided into three parts,that are entrance part,two dimensional diffuse part and equal section part. Using geometry design method,and( CFD)Computational Fluid Dynamic numerical simulation to obtain the diffuser flow fields. From design and computational results, we can see that, total pressure and Mach number distribution of the diffuser section becomes more uniformly with the diffuser equal section part becomes longer, back static pressure increase lead to the normal shock in diffuse part moves up stream, in the arranged back pressure range, normal shock keeps down stream of the inlet throat, which satisfy the design requirement. At last,the paper usingmesoflapto control the flow separation and improve the diffuser performance.
