Research and Application of Digital Coherent Turnaround Technology Based on Software Radio Architecture
The software radio technology is the best solution to implement the spacecraft transponders with miniaturization, software and functional integration. Because the old design of coherent turnaround is not suitable to software radio architecture, an model for coherent turnaround from non-coherent source is established in this paper, which is very suitable to software radio architecture, and its configuration, mathematical justification and advantages is discussed in detail. Based on this, three typical structures of transponders designed on software radio concept for IF lowpass sampling, IF bandpass sampling and RF directly bandpass sampling are proposed, and discussed and analyzed in detail. The technology of coherent turnaround from non-coherent source can be incorporated with software radio technology to provide an effective method for developing software transponder with coherent velocity measurement function.
