Influence of Heat Treatment Process on Microstructure of Glassy Carbon from FA Resin
Furfural acetone (FA) resin carbon and FA resin carbon block were prepared by impregnation-carbonization process. The resin carbon was heated at different temperature, and the carbon block was graphitized at 2500 ℃. Influence of heat treatment process on density and microstructure of FA resin carbon were studied, the density, porosity, and the graphitized homogeneity of carbon block were also studied. It was shown that FA resin carbon was a kind of high porosity carbon material, its true density and microcrystalline parameters were in proportion to heat treatment temperature, the true density increased with increasing heat treatment temperature, it was 1. 64 g/cm3 at 2500 ℃, and was 1. 80 g/cm3 at 2700 ℃. The d002 decreased and Lc increased gradually with increasing HTT,while 2100 ℃ was the key temperature for FA resin carbon microstructure, at which the amorphous carbon began to transform into graphite. As the FA resin carbon was treated at 2500 ℃ ,the d002 ,LC and the G value of resin carbon was 0.3379 nm,19.3 nm,71% respectively, and that of it was 0.3369 nm,20.3 nm,83% respectively as heating at 2700 ℃. ,but Raman spectrum analyses showed that the graphitization degree of FA resin carbon was non-homogeneous, the very ordered structure and disordered structure co-existed in the resin carbon.
