Dynamics Modeling and Simulating Research of Lunar Rover

The dynamics models were studied based on the prototype of China lunar rover. The stresses of the driven and towed rigid wheels were analyzed according to terra-mechanics. The models were simplified to satisfy engineering requirement by using mathematical fitting method. In terms of some hypotheses , the 3 - DOF dynamics models were analyzed by using Newton-Euler method. The modeling had paid special attention to the driving and steering of the lunar rover. Finally, numerical simulations proved the validity of the dynamics model qualitatively.
