The Sustainability Code-A Policy Model for Achieving Sustainability in Human Social Systems
In this paper, I present an epistemological theory of sustainability, according to which sustainability in the conduct of human affairs is linked to the content of learning-related (or innovation) policies or rules in human social systems. I claim that in order for a human population to be sustainable, it must have two things: (1) unfettered knowledge of its impact on the world, and (2) an uninhibited capacity to learn or adapt in response. I propose a policy model for achieving these conditions.
