Two-Supply Contracts and Their Comparison Based on Inventory State Equations
A literatures review of studies on supply chain contracts has been made. An inventory state equation will be established, which can describe dynamic change of inventory level. Two widely used supply contracts, one time lot-size supply for one time lot-size purchasing and continuous supply for one time lot-size purchasing, are defined. The first contract is some like the well-known EOQ, and the other contract is some like the JIT. Based on the equation characteristics of the two supply contracts will be analyzed. And a detailed comparison of the two contracts will be made also. It is shown that the second contract is a less risk and better choice for buyers.
