Rising of Electric Bicycle in China
Electric bicycle (EB) appeared in south China since 1997. Within a few years its popularization is just as a storm passing through most China. Electric bicycle (EB) - to install a permanent magnet motor (36 V/180 W) in the wheel center of bicycle and to add a rechargeable battery, electron monitor, with total weight ≤40 kg, speed ≤20 km/h. The running distance per charge is in the range of 40-60 km. Such electric bicycle is suitable for urban transportation in cities of middle scale with population around million. Such EB is extremely welcome in South China in recent year. A brief summary on EB development in China is given in present paper.
